DocuSign Explained

November 2, 20182 minute read

Technology today is making our lives easier in so many ways: buying cool stuff online with your phone, being able to control the thermostat of your home remotely and even signing for a loan!

In the past, if you needed a loan, you'd have to get dressed, get in your car, drive down to the closest branch, wait in the lobby and sign a bunch of paperwork. Now you can avoid nearly all of that and do it on your own time. You'll still have to sign paperwork, but it's all electronic and can be done without leaving your home. Who wouldn't love that? DocuSign is the technology bringing that convenience to life and the signing process to you!

DocuSign is a tool that WSECU has been using for several years. This technology allows us to send loan documents to your email for you to sign. I personally have used DocuSign to complete documents for my own loans; it is so quick and uncomplicated that I wanted to share just how easy it is. Less time spent making trips to the credit union means more time spent doing things you enjoy.

When you apply for a loan through our website or through our Contact Center, we send all the documents to you through DocuSign. You'll receive an email stating documents are ready to sign and then it's just a matter of choosing what your signature looks like and agreeing to put that signature on the document. That's it! Of course, if you want to make it even easier than that the next time, you can save your profile so your signature is ready for you at your next login.

As mentioned, one of the coolest things about DocuSign is that you can create an account and save your profile. That means you won't have to verify your identity every single time. All you have to do is sign into your DocuSign account. Not only that, your electronic signature is saved and all you have to do is click where the signature needs to go.

Next time you need to get a loan with us, whether purchasing a vehicle or opening that Personal Line of Credit; try applying online and using DocuSign. You will love how easy it is to take care of all the paperwork from your living room couch.
